The roof came off the old stables, and we loaded it into the trailer and then the new wood was collected. Ivan washed all the beams down and they looked like new timbers when he’d finished, unfortunately it was dark by this time so no photo’s. Next day and I clean the floor up and Ivan put the new wood on ready for the roof on Thursday.
Our progress so far! (24/03/09 slightly shortened version!)
We started in May 08 with rather too many trees!
so here we have before and after.
The old stable has had its doors blocked up and new windows and new doors put in.
and a start on the foundations for the stallions stables.
Eventually all the clearing of trees and roots was completed and the serious work could start, with deliveries !!
The stallion stables were now ready for a dry day, so the cement could be delivered. and the roof for both stables arrived.
and then it rained so work was done in the rain and the camera stayed in doors!
but the grass grew!
On the day the cement was delivered we luckily had the help of our close neighbours who came with what can only be described as “a very big tractor” to help pull the cement mixer in to unload and then out again !!!!
before the rain arrived the cement was covered with polythene and left to set.
Ivan is taking a weeks holiday and will hopefully start the stallions stables and re-roof the old stable
